The Repurposed Library

The Repurposed Library

Have you got a few musty old books lying around?

You know the ones – you probably got them for Christmas or a birthday one year but never got round to reading them… or at least, you read the back of the dust jacket and decided you never will read it.

Well, if you’re ever in an artsy fartsy mood, you can try Lisa Occhipinti‘s ideas of repurposing old books.  Drawing on her background in traditional bookbinding, she created crafty, easy and sustainable do-it-yourself objects in The Repurposed Library. Occhipinti has even used old books to create shelving, as shown in the picture on the left!  We also love how she has turned a book into a wall clock – you could probably get a mechanical clock hands and motor assembly from the craft shops.

We think that it’s pretty neat (and somewhat poetically ironic), creating new storage space by clearing away old clutter and breathing new life into old things with a sense of humour.

Have you got a great repurposing idea?  We’d love to hear from you!

Looloo Paper Crafternoons (An Easter Debut)

Hello hello!
How was your Easter? Ate far too much chocolate, did we? (Well, we did too… please don’t judge our expanding waistlines).  Back at our awesome Looloo HQ, we spent Easter re-purposing a couple of things that have been laying around the office to bring you our Easter-inspired crafternoon debut.  It was a good excuse to revamp what would otherwise have been unceremoniously disposed of by most people, enjoy good company and a lot of sweet sweet chocolate.

A toilet roll, a pair of googly eyes, some fuzzy pipe cleaners for ears, a dash of Easter magic and voila… some outrageously cute bunnies to brighten the day and the office!

repurpose

Here at our spanking new Looloo Paper HQ, we are all about upcycling and repurposing.  And we just had our first ‘crafternoon’ session!

“What’s a crafternoon?” you say?

Crafternoons are Looloo Paper’s monthly in-office Arts and Crafts afternoons where we all do a little DIY to breath life into scraps and pieces that most people would simply throw away.  We’ll also show you some easy-to-make crafts so you can get started and get inspired to upcycle your own masterpieces.

So keep your eyes peeled for our Easter-inspired crafternoon!

And check out our fantastic new signup page! (come on, you know you want to!)
